Robert Crais 02/11/2011

I finished reading Robert Crais' latest in paperback..The First Rule. He is such a hot author. You might remember his other novels that featured Elvis Cole, private detective, who had a very quiet sidekick named Joe Pike? First Rule featured Joe Pike as his usual quiet personality, and in some spots quite tender. The Watchman was the first Joe Pike novel, and soon to be released will be The Sentry, another Pike novel. I, for one, am glad to see Robert Crais develop this character.

The Body Farm Series 11/01/2010

I have been reading the Body Farn novels by Jefferson Bass. If you are a fan of Patricia Cornwell you will love these thriller mysteries. They are about a forensic anthropologist named Bill Brockton and involve the study of bones to discover how a murder happened. Fascinating reading. A slight touch of gore, so not recommended for the weak of heart.
Carved in Bone - 1st in series
Flesh and Bone - 2nd in series
Devil's Bones - 3rd in series
Bones of Betrayal - 4th in series

My Latest Great Read 09/09/2010

I just finished reading "The Lace Reader" by Brunonia Barry. This is far removed from my usual reads of mystery thrillers, but a mystery it still is, and a really great 1st novel by this local author. She lives in Salem, Mass., and this is where this mystical story takes place. Its about a family of psychic women who can read the future in lace patterns. It has a stunning ending and twists and turns all along the way. I loved this book and couldn't put it down. It is about 4 years old, originally published in 2006, but I had just heard about it from a customer and suddenly I found myself having to read this book.

Frequently asked question: What are Trade size books?
Answer: They are a larger size paperback book, hardcover size but without the weight. They are generally priced between $10.95 and  can go as high as $20.00 retail price. We now offer them for sale at a flat price of $7.00 plus tax.Our policy on trade size credit remains the same. Credits for trade size can only be used for purchasing trade size books, not the smaller mass market size.
